As the Fourth of July approaches, it's time to gear up for a celebration filled with fireworks, laughter, and, of course, a delicious cookout. This year, take your Independence Day grilling to the next level by incorporating the innovative MeatStick wireless thermometer. We'll guide you through an amazing ribeye recipe, made to perfection using the MeatStick, these steaks will make your celebration truly unforgettable.
Selecting the Perfect Ribeye :
Begin by selecting the ideal ribeye steak for your Fourth of July feast. Look for well-marbled cuts of Beef with even thickness and bright red color. Remember, a ribeye with a thick cap of fat on the top will add incredible flavor and juiciness to your steak. Make sure the beef is fresh and tender while purchasing. Beef that is too stiff or soft won't make a good meal for the party.
To make the dry rub, combine the following ingredients evenly:
2 tablespoons of salt
2 tablespoons of paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons of powdered garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons of onion powder
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of ground white pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons of dried oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Apply this dry rub to your beef and let it rest for 5 minutes. This rub is also ideal if you plan to make a burger using your meat!
Season your ribeye steak generously with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and any additional seasonings or rubs of your choice. The MeatStick wireless thermometer will keep you informed about the internal temperature and ambient temperatures, allowing you to focus on achieving that perfect sear and flavor while you spend time with your family and friends.
Connect the MeatStick wireless thermometer to the dedicated mobile app on your smartphone. Follow the instructions provided by the MeatStick app to pair the device with your phone. The app will display real-time temperature updates, and alarms to remind you when your meat is done, ensuring you have complete control over your steak's cooking process.
Preheat your grill to high heat for direct grilling. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent the meat from sticking.
Insert the MeatStick wireless thermometer's probe into the thickest part of the ribeye. Ensure the probe doesn't touch bone or fat, as this can affect the temperature readings. With the MeatStick connected to the app, monitor the internal temperature in real time throughout the cooking process. All of our products are suitable to use with a ribeye.
Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the preheated grill grates and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, without flipping too often. A charcoal grill works best for this cut of meat. As the steak cooks, the MeatStick thermometer will keep you informed about the internal temperature, allowing you to achieve those beautiful grill marks while reaching the desired level of doneness. For Ribeye steaks 135°F is medium-rare, 145°F medium, 155°F medium well, and 165°F is well done.
Once your ribeye reaches the desired doneness, remove it from the hot grill and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. During this resting period, the MeatStick thermometer can continue to monitor the internal temperature, ensuring it stays within the desired range. Let it rest or you lose all the flavorful juices you got while cooking.
After resting, slice the ribeye steak against the grain into thick, juicy slices. Arrange the slices on a platter, ready to be served. For a patriotic touch, garnish with a sprinkle of blue cheese crumbles, a tangy red wine reduction drizzle, and a nice fresh-filling potato salad.
