V Core Stick

V Core Stick

Five internal sensors in one wireless Stick. Smooth blue-gray alumina ceramic handle, stainless steel shaft. Dishwasher safe.

V Charge Stack

V Charge Stack

Charges the Stick over USB-C and clicks onto other stacks, so one cable charges them all. The Stick talks to your phone directly.

In the box: V Core Stick, V Charge Stack, USB-C charging cable, 3 silicone colour rings (yellow, blue, red) and quick start card. Running more than one Stick? Ring each and pick the matching colour in the app.

Inside the Stick

Five sensors along the shaft.

The V Core Stick reads the meat at five points along its steel shaft and reports the coldest one. The ceramic handle stays outside the meat and takes the heat.

  • 121.3 mm overall, with an 84.45 mm steel shaft, 5 mm across
  • Push it in at least 63.5 mm
  • Internal sensors read 14°F to 212°F (-10°C to 100°C)
  • Heat rating: 1200°F (650°C)

How it works

A cook, start to finish.

Close the lid. Keep your phone close. The app takes it from here.

  1. Roast chicken in a cast-iron skillet with a Stick pushed into the thickest part

    Stick it in.

Push the Stick into the meat and close the lid or oven door. The V Charge Stack stays on the counter, plugged in for the next charge.

  2. A hand holding a phone with the MeatStick app beside a gas grill with steak and skewers on it

    Keep your phone close.

The Stick sends temperatures straight to the app over Bluetooth. Keep your phone within about 6 ft, closer is better, and the app predicts when it's done.

  3. A sliced medium-rare roast on a board with a V Core Stick resting above it

    Pull at perfect.

Get the alert the moment it hits your target. Rest it, slice it, take the credit.

The engineering

True Temperature™

Finds the coldest point inside the meat.

Five internal sensors, accurate to ±0.4°F, track the coldest spot, the last part to cook through. You pull the meat when it's done, not when it's probably done.

V Charge Stack

Click another one on.

Each stack locks onto the next, and one USB-C cable charges the whole row. Add a V Core Set per cut; the app tracks them side by side.

  • Stackable: one cable, a whole row of Sticks
  • Runs off USB-C power, so it stays put on the counter
  • Three colour rings in the box: one per Stick, matched in the app
MeatStick app cook screen for a tomahawk steak: 76° against a 135° target, time elapsed and time remaining, five sensor readings along the Stick and a temperature graph
CookTime™

Knows when dinner's ready.

Predicts when your meat will be done, so you can time the sides, the rest, and the table.

  • Target-temperature and early-warning alerts
  • Stores up to 2,000 readings and fills in any gap when the app reconnects
  • Heat-rated to 1200°F

Questions

Quick answers.

V Core, V Prime or V Forge?

V Core: one Stick that talks straight to your phone, built to add more. V Prime: one Stick that also reads the air around the meat, plus WiFi. V Forge: a Wired Ambient Probe reads the air at the grate, and its hub can run Blow. Compare all sets →

Does it work on my grill, smoker or oven?

Yes, all of them. Keep the Stick out of direct flame.

Do I need WiFi?

No. The Stick talks to the app over Bluetooth 5, so keep your phone near the cooker. For the couch or the store, add a V Prime, V Duo or V Forge Set: its base picks up this Stick and sends the cook over your WiFi.

How far can I be from the grill?

Keep your phone within about 6 ft of the Stick; closer is better. Sealed smoker walls, a closed oven, sous vide water and foil-wrapped meat all weaken Bluetooth.

Why won't it turn on out of the box?

It needs one charge first. Set the Stick on the V Charge Stack, plugged into USB-C power. The light goes off when it's mostly charged; a full charge takes about an hour. Then lift it off and it wakes up.

How long does the battery last?

The Stick: 50+ hours per charge, depending on signal rate. A 5-minute quick charge gives about 4 hours, 10 minutes about 9. The V Charge Stack runs off USB-C power.

What if the Stick drops its connection mid-cook?

The Stick keeps recording, storing up to 2,000 readings. When the app finds it again, it asks for the missed points and fills in the gap.

Can I add more Sticks?

Yes, that's what it's built for. Add a V Core Set per cut, click the stacks together and one cable charges the row. The app tracks each Stick side by side, and colour rings tell them apart.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?

The Stick, yes. The V Charge Stack is not dishwasher safe.

Does it work with Blow?

Blow runs on the V Forge WiFi Hub, which comes in Blow Forge. Your V Core Stick works with it. Meet Blow Forge →

I own an older MeatStick. Does this work with it?

The app supports every MeatStick generation. V Series Sticks charge and connect through V Series bases and hubs; a MeatStick 4 or Chef Stick can use a V Series smart base to extend its range.

What are the returns and warranty terms?

Unused products can be returned within 30 days for a refund (shipping not refunded). Start with an RMA from support@themeatstick.com. 1-year warranty from purchase covers defects in materials and workmanship. Orders are normally processed within 1 to 2 business days. Report anything missing or damaged in shipment within 2 business days of receipt.

Reliable wireless monitoring

I added a second probe to my MeatStick v Forge and I have been very happy with my purchase. I already have several MeatStick products and I have been extremely happy with each of them. This was a great addition to the MeatStick Forge because it allows me to monitor the meat from several different points, or even while cooking multiple pork butts.

I have not pushed the battery life more than about 8 -10 hours but so far they have never run low on battery and charge quickly. The wireless and wifi connectivity has been a great addition. I switched over to MeatStick from a more well known wired monitor, and do not see myself ever switching back.

It is so nice to not have to juggle wires when moving meat around on the smoker or having to trace wires to remind myself which probe is in which pork butt. One bit of advice is to get thoroughly clean the smoke buildup off the sticks after each use. In order for the sticks to charge they need to have a clean connection to the base.

I confirmed with customer support that barkeepers friend can be used on the metal portions. After a few long cooks I give the metal areas a quick scrub with barkeepers friend and charging has never been an issue. I tested the accuracy of the sticks using a trusted instant read thermometer and both sticks were reading within .2 of a degree.

I highly recommend, especially for those of you that frequently use a rotisserie.

I have the meat stick V prime, so I added one of these since I needed more probes. I just did a brisket last weekend, and everything worked smoothly. I love how thoughtful meatstick is with their product sets

Great stick, don't lose the charger

only gripe is the charger is really small and easy to lose in a drawer. bought a little dish to keep it in. the stick itself is great, accurate, and the app is straightforward. no complaints on the actual product

Works perfectly alongside my V set

I got this as an add on to my V prime set. same stick, same app, everything just works together. pulled another pork shoulder last weekend with two sticks going at once. both tracked perfectly the whole time. Fyi the grey ceramic doesn't have ambient sensor.

Survived my cast iron sear no problem

The ceramic handle survived my cast iron sear at like 600+ degrees no problem. The reading was dead accurate compared to my instant read. this is the one
